Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Rice flour Chakri:
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- As per taste Salt
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 2 pinch asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp Carom Seeds
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2-3 tbsp hot oil
- 1/2 cup yoghurt
- as required Enough water(warm) to knead the dough
- As required Enough oil for frying
Instructions to make to make Rice flour Chakri
- In a big bowl sieve all-purpose flour and rice flour. Then mix salt, turmeric, and red chili powder. Rub carom seeds between your palms and add. Then add baking soda and mix again. Now add hot oil and rub in the dry mix very well.
- Now add asafetida and yogurt and mix very well. Now adding sufficient warm water knead a soft and elastic dough. The dough should be soft but not sticky. Skip asafoetida if you want the gluten-free dough. After kneading cover it and keep it aside to rest for 30 mins.
- After 30 mins put enough oil in a wok for frying the chakri and keep it on a low flame. Then slightly grease the Chakri maker and add the dough to it. Don't put too much dough at a time. Now start making the Chakri by rolling your hand and making a round spiral shape. If you don't have chakri maker then simply add the dough in polythene and cut the polythene from one corner just like a cone and then make Chakri or chakli.
- Once made a few of them add them to hot oil. Oil should be moderately hot must be enough for deep frying. Fry on medium heat till golden brown from both sides. Once done take it out from oil and let it completely cool down. Like so make all the batches and when get cool down completely then store it in an airtight box. It can good for almost a month at room temperature.
